Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 26-bed step-down unit, requiring an active KY or compact RN license and ACLS certification.

Details

• 26-bed all-private-room step-down unit (4th Floor) in a hospital setting
• Telemetry unit managing patients coming down from ICU, including cases such as GI bleed, COVID, and respiratory distress
• All patients are on continuous heart monitoring; critical drips are utilized on this unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4–5:1
• Evening shift, 12-hour days (Third Shift)
• 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Previous nursing experience preferred, though not strictly required
• Proficiency with computer systems and clinical applications, or ability to be trained
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, treatment implementation, patient/family education, and discharge coordination
• Collaborates with an interprofessional care team, delegates tasks appropriately, and monitors completion of delegated care
• Actively participates in unit-based quality improvement initiatives including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
