Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in Hickory, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of cardiac nursing experience and AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.

Details

• Work on a 24-bed Telemetry unit within a 355-bed Duke LifePoint Hospital
• Cardiac specialty unit caring for generalized cardiac patients ranging from young adults to elderly adults
• Common diagnoses and treatments include chest pain, A-fib, CHF, pre- and post-care for cardiac caths (groin and radial), and VATS
• Patient ratio is 4:1
• Equipment used includes LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo monitoring devices
• Cerner is the EHR system used on the unit (experience preferred)
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• May occasionally be required to float to IMCU, NPCU, and/or Surgical
• 13-week contract, 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry or cardiac nursing experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing required
• Hands-on experience with LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo equipment required
• Cerner EHR experience preferred
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• Facility is home to specialty centers including a Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, Lung Center, Orthopedics, General and Vascular Surgery, a Surgical Weight Loss program, a Women's Center, and a Level 3 NICU
• Described as a family-oriented unit
• Any color scrubs are acceptable
