Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for an inpatient NICU position requiring 5+ years of critical care experience in a Level I trauma facility, including both NICU and PICU experience.
Details
- Inpatient NICU/PICU setting at an academic Level I trauma facility
- Participation on the Code Blue team
- Patient population includes neonatal and pediatric critical care patients
- Familiarity with lung protective ventilation strategies required
- Experience with Level III NICU preferred
- Drager XL and v500 ventilators used; prior experience preferred
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of recent experience in a Level I trauma facility with critical care experience in both NICU and PICU
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
- Active MA Respiratory Care license required (license required if applicable)
- BLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- NPS and/or ACCS certification preferred
- Ability to make independent ventilator decisions based on patient assessment and laboratory results
- Candidate's permanent residence must be 30 or more miles from the facility
- 2 professional references required: at least one must be from a manager-level or above (not supervisor), must include a performance evaluation; one within the last 12 months and one within the last 3 years
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy services to critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients, including ventilator management and Code Blue response
- One reference from a prior travel or temporary assignment is preferred
- References cannot be provided by another traveler
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will be placed at a local pay rate
