Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a travel ICU position in Aurora, CO at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of acute care ICU experience and current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Details
- Mixed ICU setting within a Level II Trauma Center on the 3rd floor of a main hospital building
- 38-bed unit serving a general mixed patient population including medical, surgical, cardiac, neurosurgery, and post-operative open-heart surgery patients
- Advanced therapies supported include VV and VA ECMO, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), Impella, and CRRT
- Patient ratios are 2:1, adjusting to 1:1 depending on patient acuity
- Equipment used includes Stryker beds, Avea ventilators, GE monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Maquet IABP, Vigilance II monitors, Impella, Maquet Cardiohelp and Medtronic Vital Flow ECMO systems, and NICOM
- EMR system is Meditech; prior experience is preferred
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active CO RN license or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care ICU experience required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Bedside procedures include bronchoscopies, GI scopes, chest tube insertions, and arterial and central line insertions
- Responsibilities include airway management and frequent drip titrations
- CVICU/CTICU experience with immediate post-operative open-heart surgery patients is preferred
- Meditech EMR experience is preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- The facility is located near the Colorado mountains, offering access to skiing and hiking
