Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric RN for an outpatient Nephrology clinic position requiring a minimum of 2 years of acute care pediatrics experience and an active NC or compact RN license.
Details
- Outpatient pediatric specialty clinic setting with 15 exam rooms serving up to 25 patients per day
- Pediatric Nephrology unit serving patients with conditions including pre/post kidney transplant, CKD, adrenal diseases, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, and dialysis follow-up
- Patient population ranges primarily from newborns through age 18, with some patients seen through college graduation
- Procedures include urinalysis (UA) with urine spin-down and microscopy, Rapid Strep, Flu/COVID testing, port access, CVL draws, patient rooming, and departure education
- POC testing, general assessment, and RX refills using standing orders are part of regular responsibilities
- EMR: Epic (highly preferred)
- Equipment includes Omnicell for injections and vaccines
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule
- No weekend rotation and no on-call requirements
- No floating required
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care pediatrics experience required; ambulatory clinic experience strongly preferred
- Epic EMR experience highly preferred
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference dated within the past year required, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must have a permanent address located at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
- Orientation includes badge pickup, Epic Ambulatory RN orientation, a 2-day Skills Optimization class with demonstration and check-off, and an on-site orientation period of up to 2 weeks based on skillset and comfort level
- Support staff includes peer RNs, MAs, front desk, clinical leadership, a live answer team, on-site lab, radiology, dietician, and social worker
- Assistance with vaccines, injectable medications, and biologic injectables may be required; training can be provided for those interested but is not required
- Facility is closed on major holidays — no holiday coverage expected
- RTO requires manager approval
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Free parking is available on-site
- A manager interview is required as part of the hiring process
