Description
American Traveler is hiring an EP Lab Technologist with at least 2 years of EP Lab experience for a 13-week contract at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital.
Details
- Work in a cardiac catheterization / EP lab environment with 4 EP labs available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 3 EP labs on Wednesdays
- Adult-only patient population
- EP cases include Electrophysiology Studies (EPS), Catheter Ablations (PFA, Radiofrequency, and Cryoablations), and Concomitant Watchman Atrial Fibrillation procedures
- Implantable device procedures include pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, biventricular devices (BIV-Pacemakers and BIV-Defibrillators), leadless devices (Micra and Aveir), device and laser lead extractions, cardioversions, and loop implants
- EMR is Epic; experience preferred
- Hemodynamic monitoring system: Cardio Lab
- Equipment includes Philips monitors and PACS, Philips/GE/Siemens X-ray equipment, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, manifolds, long sheaths, and exchange wires
- Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- On-call requirement includes two weekdays and two weekends per month; details discussed during interview
- Weekend rotation schedule may vary and will be discussed during interview
- No floating required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of EP Lab experience required
- EP/structural scrub experience required; case monitoring experience preferred
- Active BLS and ACLS required
- ARRT-R or equivalent OR RCIS required; RCES preferred
- License required if applicable
- RNs will be considered in lieu of EP Tech if proficient with scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring EP cases; RN candidates must also have Epic charting, pre/post documentation, EP lab experience, and experience managing pressors and conscious sedation
- Candidate's permanent address must be located 50+ miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrub and circulate EP cases including ablations, device implantations, and extractions
- Department support includes a traffic flow coordinator, charge nurses, VAD team, RT for emergencies, ECMO team, and a code team
- Orientation includes 2 days of departmental onboarding, ACE modules, and Epic testing and modules, with expectation of self-sufficient functioning within 1 week
- Travelers are expected to cover at least one holiday during the contract, if applicable
- RTO requires manager approval
- Schedule is set on a 6-week cycle
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking is available on site
- Candidates who have previously worked a permanent position at an affiliated facility must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
