Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of IR experience, including cardiac, pediatric, and complex endovascular procedures, for a 13-week travel assignment at a quaternary care teaching hospital in Newark, NJ.
Details
- Work in a high-acuity Interventional Radiology department at a 665-bed quaternary care teaching hospital
- Patient population spans infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, including cardiac and transplant cases
- Procedures include diagnostic catheterizations (adult/pediatric/neonatal), hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac stent placement, Impella insertion, and visceral/vascular angiography
- Additional procedures include angioplasty, stent and endograft placement, embolization (radioembolization and chemoembolization), thrombolysis/thrombectomy, IVC filter placement and removal, and venous/central access (ports, PICC, line care)
- IR procedures include RFA of the liver, liver biopsy, paracentesis, thoracentesis, chest tube and gastrostomy tube placement, esophageal stent placement, ERCP, cholecystostomy, and catheter/drain exchange
- Settings include Interventional Radiology, Pediatric IR, Hybrid OR, and Special Procedures
- Charting is performed in Epic (required)
- 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Call every 3rd weekend
- Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
- Candidates must be prepared to float within their clinical skillset
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience
- Active NJ Radiologic Technologist License required — license required if applicable
- Current BLS and ARRT(R) certifications required
- Experience in Pediatric IR, Hybrid OR, and Special Procedures settings
- Proficiency with fluoroscopy, 3D imaging, PACS, and sterile field/scrub techniques
- Experience with cardiac procedures including diagnostic catheterizations across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations
- Epic EMR experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two current professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform minimally invasive, image-guided procedures for a high-acuity vascular, oncologic, and complex medical patient population
- Responsibilities include equipment setup, access site prep, sterile field maintenance, equipment and inventory management, supply stocking, and isolation precautions/PPE
- Must be prepared to work with Rapid Response and Code teams
- Hospital-provided scrubs in green/teal
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Former employees of the RWJBarnabas Health system (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
- RTO and schedule requests must be submitted prior to offer — no requests will be approved after an offer is extended
