Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatrics night shift position in Somerset, KY, requiring at least 3 years of experience and active PALS, NRP, and BLS certifications.

Details

• Work in an 8-bed Pediatric Care Unit of a 295-bed acute care facility serving an 11-county region in south central Kentucky
• Patient population includes pediatric patients from newborn to 17 years of age
• Common diagnoses and treatments include failure to thrive, hyperbilirubinemia, bronchiolitis, RSV, respiratory distress, N/V, and post-operative care (T&A)
• Patient ratios are 3:1 or 4:1 depending on acuity
• Charting is done in Meditech
• 12-hour night shifts, 7P–7A
• 2 weekend shifts required per month (Friday night and Saturday night are considered weekends)
• Floating required to mother/baby well-baby unit
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in KY or a compact state license valid in KY
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, PALS, and NRP
• Minimum 3 years of pediatric RN experience
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidate's permanent address must be 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
• Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• Ideal candidate is self-motivated with strong assessment skills and the ability to multitask
