Description

American Traveler is hiring a CV Invasive Specialist (Cardiac Cath Lab) requiring 2+ years of invasive cardiovascular or electrophysiology experience along with RCIS or RCES certification.

Details

• Cardiac Catheterization Lab setting within an acute care hospital
• 4x10-hour day shifts per week (40 hours/week)
• On-call required
• Uses Epic for charting
• Performs complex diagnostic and advanced interventional procedures including coronary intervention, EP procedures, and closure/sheath management
• Serves in rotating roles as circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech per lab policies and scope of practice

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of invasive cardiovascular technology or electrophysiology experience (not including academic or CVIS training)
• Bachelor's degree in a health science program from an accredited institution required; degree will be verified
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Nursing program
• One of the following certifications required: RCIS, RCES, ARRT-R, ARRT-CV, or ARRT-VI
• BLS (AHA) required and must not expire prior to assignment start
• ACLS (AHA) required and must not expire prior to assignment start; if not currently certified, must be obtained within 6 months of hire
• Competency in basic coronary intervention (skills pass-off completed) required
• Radiation badge required; Fluoroscopy Operator Registration is not required
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include hemodynamic recording, calculations, and interpretation; patient assessment and documentation; procedure room preparation and post-procedure turnover
• Applies principles of x-ray safety and correctly operates, calibrates, and troubleshoots imaging and cath lab equipment
• May mix and administer medications under physician direction, perform point-of-care testing and QA, and apply or remove sheaths/closure devices post-procedure
• Maintains knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, pharmacology, anatomic anomalies, and interventional supplies
• Serves as a preceptor for new CVIS I staff, including teaching, coaching, mentoring, and facilitating Skills Day Workshops
• Must maintain at least 20 CME credits per year
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from any facility in this health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
