Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Aurora, CO, requiring a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience and the ability to float across inpatient units.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PC2) at a 345-bed, 3-time Magnet-designated hospital in Aurora, CO
- Large cardiac patient population across two telemetry floors and a PCU
- Patient ratio of 1:5 on both day and night shifts
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract
- Floating required to all inpatient Med/Tele and Rehab units
- EMR: Meditech
- RNs work alongside CNAs on most units
Requirements
- Active CO or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of start)
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for PCU RNs
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care PCU experience required
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience strongly preferred
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Chemo certification (ONC) is a nice-to-have and would allow scheduling on the Oncology unit
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Ideal candidates are flexible, team-oriented, and comfortable caring for patients with varied acute and chronic medical conditions
- The unit culture is described as collaborative and family-oriented, with staff supporting one another across units
