Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Aurora, CO, requiring a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience and the ability to float across inpatient units.

• Progressive Care Unit (PC2) at a 345-bed, 3-time Magnet-designated hospital in Aurora, CO
• Large cardiac patient population across two telemetry floors and a PCU
• Patient ratio of 1:5 on both day and night shifts
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Floating required to all inpatient Med/Tele and Rehab units
• EMR: Meditech
• RNs work alongside CNAs on most units

Requirements

• Active CO or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of start)
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for PCU RNs
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care PCU experience required
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience strongly preferred
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Chemo certification (ONC) is a nice-to-have and would allow scheduling on the Oncology unit
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Ideal candidates are flexible, team-oriented, and comfortable caring for patients with varied acute and chronic medical conditions
