Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Step-Down position at a hospital in Elizabethtown, KY, requiring ACLS certification and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• 26-bed all-private-room step-down unit serving patients stepping down from ICU
• Patient population includes GI bleed, COVID, respiratory distress, and other conditions requiring telemetry monitoring
• All patients are on continuous heart monitoring; unit manages critical drips
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4–5:1
• 13-week contract with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a)
• 3 days per week schedule
• Weekend and holiday rotation required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Previous nursing experience preferred but not required
• MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, patient and family education, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities
• Delegates and oversees tasks performed by other team members in accordance with the plan of care
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
• Nursing practice is evidence-based and grounded in a holistic, patient-centered care philosophy
