Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position requiring strong post-surgical competencies, a Michigan RN license, and at least 1.5 years of Med/Surg or PCU experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Medical/Surgical unit
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30), with 36- or 48-hour weekly options available — indicate preference when applying
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:6, with the possibility of flexing higher; support staff available on those occasions
• Floating required to other Med/Surg units, ICU, and ED waiting areas to manage Med/Surg patients as needed
• No on-call requirement
• Skills required include: telemetry remote monitoring, colostomy care, feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, port access, blood product administration, peripheral line care, PICC line management, IV starts, heparin and insulin administration, PCA, surgical drain management, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), HFNC, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1.5 years of Med/Surg or PCU RN experience required
• Strong post-surgical competencies required

• Holiday coverage is required; any time-off requests during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing needs
• Candidates must be comfortable with variable patient ratios exceeding 1:6 in rare circumstances
