Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with strong orthopedic surgical skills and Epic proficiency for a 13-week travel assignment at a large, Level 1 trauma academic medical center in Burlington, VT.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room setting at a 500+ bed Level 1 trauma academic medical center
- Strong orthopedic surgical skills are required, with the ability to scrub all general OR specialties including GU, GYN, ENT, eyes, plastics, laparoscopic, trauma, thoracic, and vascular cases (CVOR excluded)
- Both circulating and scrubbing skills are required
- 12-hour rotating day/evening shifts, 36 hours per week, Sunday through Saturday
- Typical schedule consists of three day shifts plus one off shift; off shift options are 0845–1915, 1045–2115, or 1245–2315
- On-call requirement includes one weekday call per week plus one 24-hour call per four-week schedule block
- Block scheduling is not available for any reason
- No floating required
- Epic EMR is used; experience required
- No charge nurse duties required
Requirements
- Active RN license — VT or compact license required; NY candidates will be considered with proof of a pending NY license
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience in a large (500+ bed) Level 1 trauma hospital required
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
- Must be proficient in both circulating and scrubbing roles across all applicable specialties
- At least two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor are required — one from within the past 6 months and one from within the past year
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Reliable personal transportation is required, as public transportation is not accessible in this area
Additional Information
- Candidate must be flexible with scheduling to meet unit and patient care needs
- Bi-weekly orientations are held on Mondays
- Any employment gaps exceeding 90 days must be explained
- Local candidates are accepted; candidate distance from the facility may affect pay rate eligibility (measured by straight-line distance)
