  • 12-hour night shifts; available shift times include 7p–7a, 3p–3a, and 11p–11a
  • No block scheduling — travelers must be flexible with shift assignments
  • 4 weekend shifts required per month (can be scheduled as 1 per week or 2 every other week)

  • Experience with both adult and pediatric emergency patients required (approximately 50% of the patient population is pediatric)
  • Candidates being considered for the Peds ER must have significant pediatric ER experience, not just general pediatric experience
  • Triage experience required
  • Experience in a high-volume ER environment comparable to approximately 325 visits/day required
  • BSN not required
  • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
  • Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Duo (paired traveler) placements are not accepted
  • Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
  • ED RNs manage their own holds, which are intermixed within the main ER
  • Fast track area is staffed by midlevels, LVNs, and RNs (both Peds and Adult)
  • ER techs and CNAs provide support; in-house security is available
  • EKG interpretation testing is assigned during orientation; critical care RNs (ED/ICU/PICU) will complete additional testing including STEMI and procedural sedation curricula
  • Travelers are expected to work holidays unless the holiday falls within contracted time off
