Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring strong neuro, ortho, transplant, trauma, and vascular experience at a Level I trauma teaching hospital.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a Magnet-designated, Level I trauma teaching hospital
• Circulate independently on off shifts
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day/Evening shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 0640-1910, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• No call requirements
• First week orientation consists of 5 shifts from 0640-1510, followed by regular scheduling
• Required to work holidays that fall on a scheduled weekend day
• Floating required as needed
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum of 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the OR specialty required
• First-time travelers considered with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Level I trauma facility
• Strong experience required in neuro, ortho, transplant (kidney/liver), trauma, and vascular procedures
• Teaching hospital and Level I/II Trauma experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria for adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation

Additional Information

• Perform circulating RN duties independently across a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, cardiovascular, general, orthopedic, neurology, urology, thoracic, and transplant procedures
• Experience with robotics (Da Vinci) and hybrid OR settings is a plus
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Located at University Hospital, 600 Highland Ave, Madison, WI, ranked Wisconsin's #1 hospital
• Parking permit required for onsite parking, with alternative transportation options available
