Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring strong neuro, ortho, transplant, trauma, and vascular experience at a Level I trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room department of a Magnet-designated, Level I trauma teaching hospital
- Circulate independently on off shifts
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Day/Evening shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 0640-1910, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- No call requirements
- First week orientation consists of 5 shifts from 0640-1510, followed by regular scheduling
- Required to work holidays that fall on a scheduled weekend day
- Floating required as needed
- Epic charting system required
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum of 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the OR specialty required
- First-time travelers considered with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Level I trauma facility
- Strong experience required in neuro, ortho, transplant (kidney/liver), trauma, and vascular procedures
- Teaching hospital and Level I/II Trauma experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria for adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation
Additional Information
- Perform circulating RN duties independently across a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, cardiovascular, general, orthopedic, neurology, urology, thoracic, and transplant procedures
- Experience with robotics (Da Vinci) and hybrid OR settings is a plus
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Located at University Hospital, 600 Highland Ave, Madison, WI, ranked Wisconsin's #1 hospital
- Parking permit required for onsite parking, with alternative transportation options available
