Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Surgical Oncology position at an acute care facility in Indiana, working 3x12-hour night shifts with a 5:1 patient ratio.

• Acute care hospital setting on a 32-bed Med/Surg Surgical Oncology unit
• Patient population includes general surgical, oncology, stepdown, and MS overflow cases
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Staff includes RNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries (during day shift)
• 12-hour night shifts, 3x per week (Fri/Sat nights on weekends)
• Every other weekend required, or 4 weekend shifts per month (Fri/Sat nights)
• Required to cover 2 of 4 major holidays
• Floating required to MS or stepdown units within scope of practice
• EMR: Cerner
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — Indiana or Compact state license required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Med/Surg or Surgical Oncology nursing experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience beneficial

Additional Information

• Caring for general surgical, oncology, and stepdown/MS overflow patient populations
• New orientations begin every Monday
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates residing between 50–100 miles may be considered at a reduced pay rate
• BSN is not required for this position
