Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVOR position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring the ability to circulate complex vascular cases and an active SC or compact RN license.
Details
- 13-week contract at a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital with 820 staffed beds
- Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) unit specializing in complex vascular surgery
- Common procedures include endovascular, TEVAR, FEVAR, AAA, EVAR, cold leg, thrombectomy, amputation, carotid, and AV fistula cases
- Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM, scheduled Monday–Friday based on unit needs (36 hrs/week)
- On-call is required, averaging 6–8 calls per month including at least one weekend call
- Holiday on-call coverage may be required
- Charting via Epic
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or compact multi-state RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have the license active before starting
- Current AHA-issued BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of OR/CVOR experience required
- Must be proficient in circulating complex vascular cases; scrubbing experience is not required
- Radiation badge required (provided by agency)
- SSN and valid driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Circulate complex vascular surgical cases in a high-acuity cardiovascular OR environment
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the assignment start date
- First-time travelers are not preferred but may be considered with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Previous permanent or PRN staff of the MUSC health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on department needs
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
- Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- During hurricane season (June–November, peak months August–September), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties
