Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 2 Special Care Nursery position in Charleston, SC, requiring Level II or III NICU experience and an active SC or compact RN license.
Details
- Level 2 Special Care Nursery (NSC Nursery) setting within a hospital
- Patient population includes infants requiring CPAP, management of hypoglycemia, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS), and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
- Weekend and holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating to sister/nearby facilities may be required
- Charting performed in Cerner EMR
Requirements
- Active SC or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required
- NRP certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Level 2 Nursery experience required; Level II or Level III NICU experience required
- Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing required; BSN preferred
- Experience with CPAP, hypoglycemia management, NAS, and high-flow oxygen required
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, crouch, and stoop; ability to lift, move, or carry up to 50 lbs
Additional Information
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act
- Frequent interaction with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members
- Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and communicable diseases is expected in this role
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Travelers who reach one full calendar year on assignment must take a 30–60 day break before beginning a new assignment at this facility
- 2 professional references required for consideration
