Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool position requiring at least 2 years of experience and a WA or compact RN license, working 12-hour night shifts.
Details
- Float Pool position covering multiple units including 2EW, 2NW, 3EW, 3NW, 5th floor, and ER for Med/Surg holds
- 226-bed non-profit community hospital setting
- Patient population includes adults, post-surgical patients, stroke, oncology (no chemo experience required), CHF, COPD, respiratory, GI, and orthopedic (total joints); pediatric patients possible for those with peds experience
- Skills utilized include chest tubes, trachs, PICC/midlines/central lines, Foleys, NG tubes, dressing changes, wound vacs, ostomies, and telemetry monitoring
- EMR: Epic
- 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a)
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation required
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Must pass a telemetry exam during compliance
- PALS preferred but not required
- General Med/Surg skills required: chest tubes, trachs, PICC/midlines/central lines, Foleys, NG tubes, dressing changes, wound vacs, ostomies, and telemetry
- Peds and psych experience preferred but not required
- At least one supervisor-level reference required for consideration; a second reference will be needed prior to start
Additional Information
- Provide care to a diverse Med/Surg Tele patient population across multiple float units
- May rarely serve in a total care or CNA-assist capacity
- Peds-experienced nurses may be utilized in pediatric assignments
- Solid-color scrubs required; no graphics or designs
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
