Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Float Pool position requiring an active NJ or Compact RN license and at least 1.5 years of pediatric nursing experience.
Details
- Float pool position rotating between Pediatric Heme/Oncology (no chemo or infusions), general Pediatrics, Adolescents, Newborn Nursery, and Special Care Nursery (SCN), with potential Med/Surg assignments including PICU/NICU and Peds ED
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Block scheduling is not available
- Charting performed in Epic
- Experience required with IV pumps, pulse oximeters, and cardiac monitoring
- Clinical procedures include IVs, TPN, G-tube, trach tubes, central lines, Foley catheters, NG tubes, respiratory treatments, transfusions, and pre/post-op care
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; APHON certification preferred
- Minimum 1.5 years of pediatric nursing experience required
- Proficiency with IV pumps, pulse oximeters, and cardiac monitoring equipment required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two current professional references required
- Copies of all applicable certifications required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Any requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to an offer being extended
- Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
