Description

American Traveler is seeking a RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Louisville, KY, working night shifts in a high-volume unit delivering approximately 3,000 babies per year.

Details

• Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit featuring 14 LDR rooms, 3 ORs, and a 4-bed OB ED
• Serves a wide range of obstetric patients from low- to high-risk pregnancies with 24/7 specialty support
• 13-week contract with 36 hours per week
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7PM–7AM

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures
• DOB (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, patient and family education, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities
• Nursing practice is evidence-based and incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and clinical autonomy within scope of practice
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
• Delegates tasks appropriately and oversees team members in patient care activities
