Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a minimum of one year of experience and proficiency with advanced cardiac support devices including Impella, IABP, and ECMO.
Details
- Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of an acute care hospital setting
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- 13-week contract
- Proficiency with Impella, IABP (intra-aortic balloon pump), CRRT, and ECMO required
- Post open-heart surgery day 2 care is part of the patient caseload
- Heart recovery patients are a key component of this unit's population
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC compact license) currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — no other issuing bodies accepted
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Hands-on experience with Impella, balloon pump (IABP), and heart recovery required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of critically ill cardiovascular patients
- Monitors and responds to physiological data; administers medications and manages IV infusions and blood products
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and changes in physician orders
- Communicates care plans and discharge information to patients and families
- Delegates appropriately to support staff
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once, for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation is required before returning for another contract
- Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance of an offer
