Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in Asheville, NC, requiring at least 2 years of PACU experience, trauma and pediatric experience, and current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Details
- Located in a hospital PACU setting in Asheville, NC
- 40-bed PACU unit organized into specific pods
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Supported by HUC availability from 7:30 AM–4:00 PM and PCTs assigned to pods who can draw labs, perform catheterizations, and transport patients
- Documents using Cerner EMR
- Day shift: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- Schedules are set in 6-week blocks; 3 on-call shifts are required per 6-week schedule
- Float within peri-anesthesia areas including Endoscopy, PreOp, and Phase II
- Standard PACU equipment in use; ventilator monitoring is required
Requirements
- Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 2 years of recent PACU experience required
- Trauma experience required
- Pediatric experience required
- NIH Stroke Scale experience required
- Ventilator monitoring experience required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include post-anesthesia recovery care, ventilator monitoring, and collaboration with PCTs and HUC support staff
- Surgical green or navy scrubs required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
