Description
American Traveler is hiring a General Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including renal and liver transplant sonography, for a 13-week travel assignment at a Magnet-designated Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital in Charleston, SC.
Details
- Work setting is a large academic Magnet-designated Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital with 865 staffed beds
- General ultrasound unit performing abdominal, transplant, and doppler imaging studies
- Shift is 3x12-hour nights, Monday–Thursday, 8:00 PM–6:30 AM, with holiday rotation
- No on-call required
- May float between the main hospital and the ART location within clinical scope
- Charting is performed in Epic
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of ultrasound experience required
- Experience with renal transplant, liver transplant, and abdominal doppler imaging required
- Experience working at a large hospital required
- First-time travelers are generally not accepted; candidates must have completed at least one prior travel assignment — exceptions may be considered for candidates coming from a large teaching facility
- Active BLS (AHA) and ARDMS or ARRT (S) certification required
- Graduated from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography required
- SC state ultrasound licensure is not required; license required if applicable
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the standard travel rate; local candidates within 60 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- SSN and driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform general ultrasound studies including renal transplant, liver transplant, and abdominal doppler imaging
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the assignment start date
- Scrub colors are teal tops and black bottoms
- Parking is available nights and weekends with a one-time $20 parking pass fee
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Candidates and contractors should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
