Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Emergency Department travel contract at a Level III trauma center in Farmington, NM, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and NM or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 48-bed Emergency Department (with flex space) at a 198-bed Level III trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah
• Patient population includes ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, psychiatric, and substance abuse disorders, with common presentations including chest pain, abdominal pain, CHF, and sepsis
• Patient ratios are 4:1 in the Main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
• Mid-shift schedule with rotation options including 10A–10P, 12P–12A, and 3P–3A (all 12-hour shifts)
• Minimum of two weekends required per schedule
• No call requirements
• No floating requirements
• EMR: Cerner
• Equipment includes Zoll Defibrillator, Level One Blood Transfuser, QinFlow Blood Warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and iStat POC, and Ultrasound Guided IV

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Experience with trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Completion of an area-specific competency exam and skills checklist required for consideration

• A social worker is assigned to the department, along with a dedicated unit educator
