Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with at least 1 year of CT experience for a night shift travel contract at an academic community hospital in Danville, VA.
Details
- Radiology department (CT Scan) on the 2nd floor of a 250-bed academic community hospital
- Patient population is primarily adult and geriatric; pediatric cases are rare
- Common diagnoses include PE, stroke, kidney stones, appendicitis, chest pain, abdominal pain, and MVA trauma
- Equipment includes GE VCT 64-slice and GE Brightspeed 16-slice CT scanners
- EMR: Meditech
- 3x12 night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Monday through Wednesday
- Weekend hours are variable, covering when staff is off (every other weekend)
- No call or float requirements
- 13-week contract based in Danville, VA
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of CT technologist experience
- ARRT certification required
- AHA BLS (CPR) certification required
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Active licensure required if applicable
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- Must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Must not be employed full-time elsewhere
Additional Information
- Perform CT imaging for a range of diagnoses including PE, stroke, kidney stones, appendicitis, chest pain, abdominal pain, and trauma
- Strong critical thinking skills and a team-oriented, positive attitude are expected
- Consent to random drug screening and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form are required; drug screens are completed on site
- Scrubs of any color are acceptable; jeans and leggings are not permitted
- Facility is a designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center accredited by the ACC and ACS Commission on Cancer
- Orientation is held bi-weekly on Tuesdays
