Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an ICU position requiring 1.5+ years of ICU experience and a New Mexico or compact RN license.

Details

• ICU setting with option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
• 3x12 hour night shifts from 18:30 to 7:00
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating required to like units within scope as needed, with brief orientation provided
• EPIC charting experience preferred

Requirements

• Active NM or compact RN license required prior to start
• Minimum 1.5-2 years of ICU experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS and NIHSS; BLS preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Respiratory skills required: chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Medication management skills required: continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Neurological skills preferred: EVD, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, and post neurosurgery management
• Additional required skills include cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation/management, isolation precautions/PPE, phlebotomy, IV insulin protocols, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction
• Experience in Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU settings preferred

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as locals are not accepted
• Former staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• Limited RTO auto-approval available, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Onsite orientation includes required training modules
