Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position in Thornton, CO, requiring a minimum of 1 year of recent ICU experience, active CO or compact RN license, and current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications.
Details
- 28-bed ICU split across two pods (Pod A: 12 beds, Pod B: 16 beds) in a hospital setting
- Typical patient ratio of 1:2, with 1:1 or 1:3 possible depending on acuity
- Patient population includes neuro surgical, trauma (Level III, transitioning to Level II), cardiac and respiratory arrest, ETOH/drug withdrawal, and all ventilated patients
- Common procedures include management of vented patients, cardiac/respiratory arrest response, and neuro surgical care
- Equipment used includes Pyxis, Plum Pump IVs, GE bedside monitors, Nellcor, Arctic Sun, and Sub-Zero cooling systems
- EMR: Meditech (experience preferred)
- Day shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Critical care techs staffed 6 days a week, 0900–2100, on both shifts
- Each shift is led by one charge nurse; staffing levels vary based on census and acuity
Requirements
- Active CO RN license or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical ICU experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- TNCC preferred
- Meditech EMR experience preferred
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSN accepted
- One professional reference required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
