Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for an acute care hospital CT department in Garden City, KS, requiring ARRT (CT) certification and at least 1 year of CT experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital CT department with 1 GE 64-slice scanner
• Traveler will float between CT and X-ray as needed
• Common studies include all CT scans, stroke, and trauma imaging
• Epic EMR and Fuji Synapse PACS are used in this department
• 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with call required
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of CT technologist experience required
• Experience with CT scan performance and IV contrast administration required
• X-ray experience is a plus as the role includes coverage in that area
• Active BLS (AHA) certification required
• Active ARRT (CT) and ARRT (R) certifications required — pending certifications will not be accepted
• Kansas state license required if applicable — pending licenses will not be accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; a valid driver's license is required to verify permanent address
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform all CT scan types including stroke and trauma studies, and assist with X-ray imaging
• IV contrast is administered by the technologist; IVs for contrast are started in the ED or inpatient unit — technologists are not required to start IVs
• Radiologist is typically in-house Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Department orientation is provided by the facility; clinicians must be on-site for the orientation week even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Traveler is responsible for providing their own radiation dosimetry badge (rad badge)
• No scrub color requirement
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible — candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• Travelers hired into this Kansas facility are subject to a Float Radius Policy and are expected to secure housing that allows them to float within their assigned zone
