Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel contract at a hospital in the Fort Myers, FL area, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience including pediatric cases, and call availability.
Details
- 12-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM), 3 shifts per week
- Hospital operating room setting serving both adult and pediatric patient populations
- Surgical services include ENT, General Surgery, Vascular, Endovascular, Robotics, Dental, GYN, Orthopedics, Spine, and Neurosurgery
- Call is required and averages approximately 4 times per month, with varying call types: End-of-Shift (EOS) 7 PM–11 PM, overnight 7 PM–7 AM, or Backup Call (BUC) 3 PM–7 AM
- Floating is required; travelers are first to float and may float to sister campuses within 15–20 minutes of the main facility
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Active FL RN license or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
- Pediatric OR experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Nursing degree from an accredited program (ACEN, CNEA, or CCNE), or a minimum of 5 years of experience in lieu of accreditation verification
- Driver's license address must match the address on file with the Board of Nursing
- Full demographic information required for consideration, including full name, address, email, date of birth, SSN, and RN license number
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; this rule is strictly enforced
- Block scheduling requests are not accepted
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application and will not be approved after an offer is made
- Orientation begins on a Friday and includes a remote component, with an in-person visit to the facility required for badge/ID issuance
- Candidates are expected to function as core staff and integrate into the team culture
- All required documents must be submitted by the hard deadline (Monday prior to the contract start); no exceptions for pending documents
