Description
American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist for a breast imaging position requiring multimodality competency including mammography and breast ultrasound, with a minimum of 2 years of experience and active Massachusetts state licensure.
Details
- Breast imaging department within an acute care hospital setting
- Performs both diagnostic and screening mammography, ultrasound and mammographically guided breast interventions, and bone densitometry
- 40 hours per week on a rotating day/evening schedule with every other weekend and every other holiday coverage
- Rotating schedule: Week 1 - Mon/Tue/Fri 9:30 AM–8:00 PM, Sat 7:00 AM–5:30 PM; Week 2 - Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri 9:30 AM–8:00 PM
- Shifts range between 8, 10, and 12 hours depending on the week
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of mammography technologist experience
- Active MA State license in Radiography and Mammography required at time of consideration (license required if applicable)
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M) required
- ARRT (BS) or RDMS (BR) certification required
- Interventional competency required
- Current BLS certification required
- 2 professional references required — at least one must be from a manager-level or above and include a performance evaluation; one reference must be within the last 12 months and the other within the last 3 years
- Valid, non-expired driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Functions as a multimodality technologist under the supervision of the Radiology Administrative Director of Technical Operations and Clinical Supervisor of Breast Imaging
- Performs mammography and breast ultrasound procedures including diagnostic and screening exams, image-guided breast interventions, and bone densitometry
- Breast ultrasound competency is preferred
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but references from fellow travelers are not accepted
- Skills checklist must be completed within the last year for consideration
