Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level I Trauma academic teaching hospital in New Mexico, requiring at least 1 year of L&D experience in a large unit with circulating and fetal heart monitoring skills.
Details
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36-hour or 48-hour weekly contract options available
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Cerner EMR used for charting
- Procedures include cerclage, version, C-section, PPTL, external and internal monitoring, AROM, medically assisted deliveries, C-hyst, neonatal palliative care, nitrous oxide, massive transfusion protocol, and malignant hyperthermia
- On-call is required: 12 hours over 4 weeks for 4x12 contracts; 24 hours over 4 weeks for 3x12 contracts
- Floating required within scope to antepartum and postpartum units
- Weekend scheduling cannot be guaranteed a set number of days off at this time
- Purple scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking available on-site
Requirements
- Active NM RN license or compact license required; NM license may be pending at time of consideration
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP — NRP must be in hand prior to start date
- Minimum 1 year of L&D experience required
- Experience in a large L&D unit or facility required
- Circulating and fetal heart monitoring (FHM) skills required
- Experience in postpartum care, baby nursing, and meconium deliveries required (3s/4s level)
Additional Information
- Setting is a Level I Trauma Center, Children's Hospital, and academic teaching hospital with 554 staffed beds
- RQI certifications are not accepted — standard BLS/ACLS cards are required
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO requests exceeding 7 days require management approval
- Travelers who have worked 4 consecutive assignments or reached the one-year mark must take a 6-month break before returning
- COVID vaccination is optional; proof of vaccine series or a signed declination form must be uploaded
