Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Case Management position requiring a MA RN license, BSN, and a minimum of 3 years of case management experience in an acute inpatient setting.
Details
- Acute inpatient hospital setting on the Menino Campus
- Case management caseload of 18–22 patients
- Collaborative care management including assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of patient care options and services
- Determines medical necessity and appropriateness of admission using InterQual screening and inpatient lists from Medicare
- Day shift, 4×10-hour shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM), 40 hours per week
- No major holidays required
- Every 6th weekend required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required
- BSN required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in case management with an extensive background in medical-surgical patterns of practice and acute inpatient care
- Knowledge of methods for assessing physical and mental impairment, illness characteristics, and expected treatments
- Knowledge of benefits, plan contracts, eligibility issues, and requirements
- CCM or related certification preferred
- 5+ years of experience in utilization management (UM) and case management preferred
- Must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (A or B) prior to placement — the test may only be taken twice
- Valid driver's license (non-expired) required for consideration
- 2 professional references required: at least one must be from a manager-level or above (not supervisor), must include a performance evaluation; one reference must be within the last 12 months and the other within the last 3 years; references from other travelers are not accepted
Additional Information
- Manages length of stay (LOS) and promotes efficient utilization of resources using InterQual criteria
- Candidates who reside within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
- First-time travelers are not mentioned as eligible — minimum 18 months of specialty experience is required
