Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a PACU position at a Magnet-designated, Joint Commission accredited facility, requiring prior travel experience and ACLS certification.
Details
- PACU setting within a hospital environment, consisting of 15 recovery bays split between PACU A (primary) and PACU B (secondary)
- Diverse adult inpatient and outpatient post-operative patient population
- Works closely with the Holding unit, ORs, surgical providers, and anesthesia partners
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday
- Unit is closed on major holidays; no holiday coverage required
- No weekend requirements
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- EMR: Epic (experience noted)
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license required at time of start
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides post-operative recovery care for adult inpatient and outpatient surgical patients
- Collaborates with Main PACU partners for patients requiring post-operative admission or transfer to the Main Surgical Observation Unit
- Facility is both Magnet designated and Joint Commission accredited
- Orientation modules are completed prior to start date
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
- All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; multiple RTO requests within the contract may be denied
- During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
