Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a PACU position at a Magnet-designated, Joint Commission accredited facility, requiring prior travel experience and ACLS certification.

Details

• PACU setting within a hospital environment, consisting of 15 recovery bays split between PACU A (primary) and PACU B (secondary)
• Diverse adult inpatient and outpatient post-operative patient population
• Works closely with the Holding unit, ORs, surgical providers, and anesthesia partners
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday
• Unit is closed on major holidays; no holiday coverage required
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• EMR: Epic (experience noted)

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license required at time of start
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides post-operative recovery care for adult inpatient and outpatient surgical patients
• Collaborates with Main PACU partners for patients requiring post-operative admission or transfer to the Main Surgical Observation Unit
• Facility is both Magnet designated and Joint Commission accredited
• Orientation modules are completed prior to start date
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; multiple RTO requests within the contract may be denied
• During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
