Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring strong neuro, ortho, transplant, trauma, and vascular experience.

Details

• Operating Room unit at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital and Level I trauma center
• Circulating independently on off shift for a variety of surgical specialties including vascular, cardiovascular, transplant, neuro, ortho/spine, urology, thoracic, and general surgery cases
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day/evening shift, 12-hour shifts scheduled 0700-1900
• Schedule includes every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• No call requirements
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WI or Compact RN license
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the Operating Room specialty
• Strong clinical experience in neuro, orthopedic, transplant (kidney/liver), trauma, and vascular surgeries
• Teaching hospital and Level I/Level II trauma experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Prior travel RN experience preferred; will consider first-time travelers with a minimum of five years of experience in a Level I trauma facility
• Must pass telemetry exam with strict criteria prior to start, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% or higher passing score on adult and pediatric exams

Additional Information

• Provide circulating RN support independently during off-shift surgical procedures across multiple specialties
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Assignment length of 17 weeks
• Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available including bus and park & ride
