Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an ACU/CCU (ICU) position at a community hospital in Yakima, WA, requiring at least one prior travel assignment and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

  • Work in the ACU/CCU unit of a 226-bed non-profit community hospital with 11 ICU beds
  • Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, CVA overflow, post-cath patients (TR bands and femoral approach), and surgical patients (vascular, abdominal, GI)
  • Procedures include chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and monitoring femoral arterial sheaths; travelers will not pull femoral sheaths
  • Common drips include diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin
  • Blood product administration and BiPAP management required
  • Art line, Impella, and/or IABP experience preferred
  • EMR: Epic
  • 12-hour shifts available on days (0700–1930) and nights (1900–0730)
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend rotation required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required to Tele, Telemetry 2EW, Med-Surg, and Neurology-Medical units

Requirements

  • Active WA state RN license or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • At least one prior travel nursing assignment required; first-time travelers will not be considered
  • Experience with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and femoral arterial sheath monitoring required
  • Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

  • A clinical interview via SimpliFi is required, followed by unit final approval
  • Two professional references from a supervisor or above (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, etc.) are required prior to start; one reference may be submitted initially
  • Professional scrub colors accepted (any color)
  • A WA RN license may be submitted as pending, provided proof of application is included

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first travel assignment. American Traveler has made the entire process feel easy from start to finish.
