Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience and dual ARRT (CT & R) certification for an overnight position at an orthopedic specialty hospital in Manhattan.

Details

  • Orthopedic specialty hospital setting in Manhattan near Union Square
  • Inpatient and outpatient imaging department, with potential rotation across multiple departments within the hospital or at an offsite location across the street
  • Patient population includes pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
  • Daily caseload of up to 20 patients; low-volume, steady-paced overnight environment
  • CT procedures include abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, brain perfusion, CTAs, and multiplanar reconstruction
  • X-ray procedures include extremities, spine/pelvis, head, chest/thorax, and musculoskeletal studies
  • Portable X-ray equipment used
  • Siemens imaging equipment in use
  • Epic EMR — experience preferred but not required
  • 5x8-hour night shifts, Midnight to 8:30 AM, Monday through Friday
  • First two weeks of the assignment are day shift for training before transitioning to the regular overnight schedule

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of CT Technologist experience
  • ARRT CT and ARRT R certifications required
  • BLS required
  • Active NYS license with IV Certification required — license required if applicable
  • DOHNYS certification required
  • Experience operating Siemens equipment required
  • Proficiency performing both CT scans and X-rays required
  • Experience in outpatient, inpatient, ER, and adult ICU settings
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or move patients and equipment in excess of 150 lbs, with or without assistive devices
  • COVID vaccination required — no exceptions

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Candidate will work independently overnight due to very low patient volume on the shift
  • Charcoal grey scrubs required
  • Free parking is available in an employee garage
  • Street parking is also available nearby
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
  • RTO is limited to 5 days or fewer, with no RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • Former employees must have been away for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler

Amanda has been awesome throughout my assignment. She checks in regularly with a call or text just to see how things are going and make sure I don’t need anything. That level of support has really stood out to me. I’m rly happy I chose American Traveler for my first assignment, and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again.
