Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medicine Specialty Unit position requiring Med/Surg and Stepdown experience, with at least one year of travel nursing experience preferred.
Details
- Hospital-based Medicine Specialty Unit caring for patients with a range of simple to complex health conditions
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week (48 hours per week)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license (OK state license or eNLC compact license) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — all certifications must be AHA-issued
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
- Level I trauma experience preferred
- 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and collaborating with physicians during exams and minor diagnostic procedures
- Involves patient and family education regarding care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
- Delegates tasks to support staff and coordinates referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may work a maximum of 26 weeks total (including one extension); a 6-month separation period is required before returning for another contract
- Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced — onboarding requirements including drug screens and background checks must be initiated immediately upon booking
- Full Social Security Number (SSN) and date of birth (DOB) are required for consideration
