Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical/Transplant unit position requiring acute care surgical floor experience and stepdown/PCU experience, working nights in a hospital setting.
Details
- Hospital-based Surgical/Transplant unit (mixed med/surg and stepdown floor)
- Cares for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients, as well as pre-transplant patients undergoing inpatient evaluation
- Patients require close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery
- Nurses may be assigned to either the med/surg or stepdown side depending on staffing and acuity
- 12-hour night shifts, 4 days per week (48 hours/week)
- This is not a PACU position — OR candidates will not be accepted
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care surgical floor experience required
- Stepdown/PCU experience required
- ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
- Preceptor and charge nurse experience preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, administering medications, monitoring physiological data, initiating and regulating IV infusions and blood products, and coordinating discharge education with patients and families
- Delegates tasks to support staff and collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may work a maximum of 26 weeks total (including any extensions); a 6-month separation period is required before being eligible for another contract
- Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced — onboarding requirements must be initiated immediately upon booking
