Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 3rd Floor Overflow unit, requiring at least one year of RN experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Details

• Position is on a 3rd Floor Overflow unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes a variety of medical-surgical and step-down patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• May be floated to any area of the hospital
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; all certifications must be AHA-issued
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Med/Surg and step-down experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Full date of birth (DOB) and full SSN required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, and managing IV infusions and blood products
• Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and coordinates care referrals with appropriate personnel
• Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
• Compliance requirements are strict and non-negotiable — all onboarding documentation must be initiated immediately upon acceptance of an offer
• Workers who have previously completed a contract at this facility may extend once for a maximum total of 26 weeks; after 26 weeks, a 6-month separation period is required before beginning a new contract
