Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Specialty Step Down position requiring tracheostomy care experience and Epic EMR proficiency, working nights in Oklahoma City, OK.
Details
- Hospital-based Med Specialty Step Down unit (high acuity)
- Patient population includes those with complex health problems requiring step-down level care
- Tracheostomy care is performed in this unit
- Epic EMR is used and experience is required
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma or eNLC Compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Current ACLS certification from the AHA required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Med/Surg Step Down experience required
- Tracheostomy care experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- ICU experience preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Manages an assigned group of step-down patients, monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary
- Administers medications, initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and changes in physician orders
- Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures, and coordinates referrals to appropriate personnel
- All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to return after completing 26 weeks of total assignment time
- Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon accepting an offer
