Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Specialty Step Down position requiring stepdown/high-acuity experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

• Hospital-based Med Specialty Step Down unit
• High-acuity stepdown patient population with a range of simple to complex health conditions
• Tracheostomy care required as part of patient care responsibilities
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Uses Epic EMR (experience required)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or valid Compact (eNLC) RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Stepdown (high-acuity) experience required
• Med/Surg experience required
• Tracheostomy care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• ICU experience preferred
• ADN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsible for managing an assigned group of patients, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, and regulating IV infusions and blood products
• Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Communicates care plans and discharge instructions to patients and families, and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 weeks (one contract + one extension) before being eligible to apply again
• Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon accepting an offer
