Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position at a Level 1 Trauma hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience and an active ND or Compact RN license.
Details
- Acute care setting in a Cardiac Cath Lab at a Level 1 Trauma facility
- Unit consists of 7 cath lab rooms
- Patient population includes cardiac cath with intervention, device implants, peripheral vascular, stroke, structural heart, STEMI, and stroke patients
- 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio during cases
- 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00am–5:30pm
- On-call required every 2–3 weekends and one night per week as part of a 4-person call team plus MD
- No floating to other units or departments
- EMR: Epic (One Chart) and CUPID
Requirements
- Active ND or Compact RN license required
- Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required
- Large hospital experience at a Level 2 trauma center or higher required
- Critical care background (ICU or ED) preferred
- Experience with equipment including GE MAC LAB, EKOS, balloon pumps, IMPELLA, Angiovac, FFR, and IVUS preferred
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the same specialty within the last 3 years
- All certifications must be active at time of consideration — no pending certifications accepted
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include performing nursing assessments, administering conscious sedation, and providing care for cath lab patients across a broad range of cardiac and vascular procedures
- Candidates who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their application date
- Candidates with a permanent address between 60 and 80 miles from the facility are eligible but will receive a local travel pay rate
- Ceil blue scrubs are provided by the facility
- All clinicians are required to badge in and out at the facility
- 13-week contract
