Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med-Surg/Telemetry night shift position requiring a TX or compact license and Epic charting exposure.

• Work in a 36-bed Med-Surg/Telemetry unit
• 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Floating required to units of equal acuity
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• 2 years of RN experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central line and PICC line care, blood product administration, and port access/management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and remote telemetry monitoring
• Competency in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE

Additional Information

• Provide care for cardiac telemetry, CVA, spinal cord injury, GI, cardiovascular, and renal patient populations
• Assist with pre/post cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery care as needed
• Manage feeding tubes, surgical drains, and hemodialysis patients as required
• No travel pairs or groups accepted for this position
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Candidates residing in certain nearby counties are not eligible for this assignment
• Former permanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
