Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg night shift position on a 5th Floor Surgical Orthopedics/Medical unit, requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg experience and an active OK or compact RN license.
Details
- Full-service tertiary hospital setting with 190 licensed beds
- 5th Floor Surgical Orthopedics/Medical unit with 32 beds
- Patient population includes surgical, orthopedic, bowel, urologic, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, dental, back, pneumonia, chest pain, and COPD cases
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Remote telemetry monitoring managed by the ICU
- EMR: Epic
- Night shift, 3x12s, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend shifts include Friday and Saturday nights (7p–7a)
- Standby call may be required — if placed on standby for a scheduled shift, you may be called in at any time during your 7p–7a window
- Float required to other Med/Surg departments
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active OK or compact RN license required
- BLS certification from AHA required
- ACLS from AHA preferred; CPEN and PALS also preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
- Epic EMR experience beneficial given unit usage
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required — Canadian SINs are not accepted
- No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Black scrubs required
- Flu vaccination is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1 — no declinations or exceptions accepted
- Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
- Candidates living within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts at this facility; after that, a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius is required
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documentation of a scheduled renewal is provided
