Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ER experience and trauma facility background including pediatric experience.
Details
- Work setting is a Level I Trauma Center hospital emergency department
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Weekends are required; scheduled days will vary based on staffing needs
- Block scheduling is not available
- Epic EMR experience required
- Triage experience preferred
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active VA RN license or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted (must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC may be pending at submission but must be obtained before start)
- Minimum 2 years of total ER experience required
- At least 1 year of Level I trauma facility experience OR at least 2 years of Level II trauma facility experience required
- Pediatric ER experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- BSN preferred
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Driver's license and Social Security card copies required for consideration
Additional Information
- Performs emergency nursing care including triage of patients across a wide acuity range in a Level I Trauma Center environment
- Travelers are required to float within their scope of practice as needed
- Up to 40 hours of RTO may be approved per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed upfront as no additional RTO will be approved after offer acceptance
- Time off around Labor Day cannot be approved
- Every other holiday coverage is required
- Candidates who have previously worked at this health system as permanent staff or internal travelers must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning; external travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted for this unit
