Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ER experience and trauma-level background, with mid-shift scheduling and weekend availability.

Details

  • Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department setting at an academic medical center
  • Mid shift schedule (11:00–23:00), 3x12-hour shifts per week
  • 36 or 48 hours available per week
  • Weekends are required; scheduled days will vary based on staffing needs
  • Block scheduling is not available
  • Every other holiday required
  • Uses Epic EMR; experience is required
  • Floating within scope of practice required as needed
  • Triage experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active VA or compact RN license required; pending license accepted but must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date
  • Minimum 2 years of total ER experience required
  • At least 1 year of Level I trauma facility experience, OR at least 2 years of Level II trauma facility experience, including some pediatric (peds) experience — this is a hard requirement
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC pending accepted at submission but must be in hand before start)
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Copy of Driver's License and Social Security Card required for consideration
  • BSN preferred

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • RTO maximum is 40 hours per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed upfront as no additional RTO will be approved after offer acceptance
  • Time off around Labor Day cannot be approved
  • Candidates who have previously worked at this health system as permanent staff or internal travelers must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning; external travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days across all assignments
  • No radius rule — local candidates are accepted for this unit
  • Previous employment history with this health system should be disclosed during the consideration process
