Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level I/II Trauma Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ER experience and trauma-level certifications including TNCC.
Details
- Work setting is a Level I and Level II Trauma Center emergency department in an academic hospital environment
- Mid shift (11:00–23:00), 4x12-hour shifts per week
- 36 or 48 hours available per week; scheduled days will vary based on staffing needs
- Block scheduling is not available
- Weekend shifts are required
- Every other holiday required
- Time off around Labor Day cannot be approved
- Epic EMR experience required
- Floating within scope of practice is required as needed
- Triage experience is preferred
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license required; pending licenses accepted (must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- Minimum 2 years of total ER experience required
- At least 1 year of Level I trauma facility experience, or at least 2 years of Level II trauma facility experience required; some pediatric ER experience is also required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC pending accepted, but must be in hand before start date)
- Epic EMR experience required
- BSN preferred
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Driver's license and Social Security card copies required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- RTO maximum of 40 hours per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed upfront, as no additional RTO will be approved after offer acceptance
- Candidates who have previously worked at this health system as permanent staff or internal travelers must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning; external travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days
- Nursys license verification is required
- Orientation includes specialty-specific modules completed on-site
