Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring neuro/trauma care experience, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications, working night shifts with every other weekend commitment.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on the K7 floor of a 44-bed unit within the K Tower building
• Trauma Care Stepdown unit serving neurological and trauma patient populations
• Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Patient ratio is 4:1 at grid, stretched to 5:1
• Equipment used includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts
• EMR: Cerner
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to stepdown and med-surg units required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS — must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or progressive care nursing experience required
• Neuro and trauma care experience required
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Procedures performed on this unit include neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tube management, PCA pump management, IV infusions, lumbar drain, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• AHA or ARC certifications accepted
