Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position in Elizabethtown, KY, requiring BLS and ACLS certifications with experience caring for critically ill patients on night shifts.

Details

• 20-bed medical ICU setting within a hospital environment
• Patient population includes Cardiac Arrest, Sepsis, Mechanical Ventilation, Stroke, post-surgical, Continuous Dialysis, and invasive bedside procedures
• Goal patient-to-nurse ratio of 2:1
• Night shift schedule: 7pm–7am, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate interventions
• DOB (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Nursing practice is evidence-based and centered on the patient as a whole person, incorporating all four phases of the nursing process
• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care coordination, individualized treatment planning, patient and family education, and facilitating admissions, transfers, and discharges
• RNs are expected to delegate tasks appropriately and monitor the performance of other team members
• Active participation in unit-based quality improvement activities is expected, including monitoring for patient falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and patient satisfaction metrics
